1. Introduction
PrepPilot is an independent LSAT-style practice and analytics platform. This Privacy Policy explains how PrepPilot collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the website, create an account, answer practice questions, save progress, or interact with study tools.
By using PrepPilot, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, you should not use PrepPilot.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of PrepPilot, and limited technical information needed to operate the service.
- Account information: email address, username or display name, authentication identifiers, and account status.
- Study and performance data: question attempts, selected answers, correct answers, accuracy, question type, section type, flagged questions, timestamps, score estimates, full-test history, and study analytics.
- Guest/local data: if you use guest mode, some progress may be stored locally in your browser and may not sync across devices.
- Technical data: browser, device, approximate usage events, deployment logs, and error information necessary to maintain and secure the service.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to operate PrepPilot, authenticate users, save progress, provide practice analytics, display score estimates, restore flagged questions, generate study summaries, troubleshoot bugs, prevent abuse, improve the product, and communicate service-related updates.
PrepPilot does not sell your personal information. PrepPilot does not use your personal study data to train third-party AI models unless a future version of the service clearly discloses that use and obtains any consent required by applicable law.
4. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
PrepPilot may use browser local storage, cookies, or similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember guest progress, improve the user experience, and maintain security. You may clear local browser storage through your browser settings, but doing so may delete guest-mode progress.
5. Service Providers
PrepPilot uses third-party service providers to operate the platform. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to PrepPilot.
- Supabase: authentication, database storage, and saved user progress.
- Vercel: website hosting, deployment, logs, and performance infrastructure.
- GitHub: source code hosting and deployment integration.
- Future payment providers: if subscriptions are added, a payment processor such as Stripe may process payment information. PrepPilot does not intend to store full payment card details directly.
6. Data Sharing
PrepPilot may share limited information with service providers that help operate the service, comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Use, protect users, investigate abuse, respond to lawful requests, or support a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
PrepPilot does not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and study data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain user progress, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and improve the product. Guest-mode data may remain in your browser until you clear it or reset local stats. You may request deletion of account data using the contact method below.
8. Security
PrepPilot uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information. However, no internet service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for signing out on shared devices.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also use PrepPilot in guest mode, sign out, clear local browser storage, or request deletion of account data.
